Shooting Workout: Five

Warm-Up: Form Shooting

Speed Shooting Drill:

  • Start at one elbow. Take a jump shot.
  • Get your rebound and speed dribble down to the other elbow on the opposite side of the court.
  • This drill is designed to work on pushing the ball up the court at fast and controlled pace. It works on your pull up jump shot but also builds endurance from spiriting the floor.
  • Complete the drill for 3 minutes, two times through. The goal is to make 45 or more made shots.

Fatigue Shooting Drill:

  • Put 6 minutes up on the clock.
  • For the first 2 minutes you will take game speed lay-ups. Make sure each lay-up is a different kind of move. Some include reverse lay-up, down the middle floater, power-up, and bully lay-up. Get your own rebound each time. Start the lay-up from the elbow, corner, wing, or foul line each time to make sure you are getting in conditioning to tire you out.
  • For the next 2 minutes you will take jump-shots from a different spot each time. Run to get your rebound and run to the next shooting spot.
  • For the last 2 minutes you will take three point shots from a different spot each time. Run to rebound and run to the next spot.
  • At the end of 6 minutes, take 10 foul shots. Run sprints for the difference of shots you don’t make.
